Streamer X

Streamer X software: RØDECaster App for setup, UNIFY for the mix.

The Streamer X is a streaming audio interface and HDMI capture box in one. The RØDECaster App configures it and updates its firmware; UNIFY is where the live mixing happens.

What the app does on the Streamer X

Connect the Streamer X over USB and it appears in the RØDECaster App alongside any console. The app has supported it since May 2023 (RØDE Central 2.0.30, before the split) and carried it into the RØDECaster App in 2.0.94.

Mix profiles

Save the current mix as a custom profile, or save a new one, and the app keeps them across restarts — both added in 2.0.61 and 2.0.62 after early builds lost profiles on relaunch. A gain-control bug with some setups was fixed in the same release.

SMART pads

Four physical pads, 16 banks, 64 actions: sound playback, voice effects and MIDI commands that can double as keyboard shortcuts. The app has controlled all 16 banks since 2.0.31, which also added the audio mixer quick-start guide.

Firmware 1.2.0 and USB hosting

Streamer X firmware 1.2.0 added USB hosting; app version 2.0.102 added the matching support. Keep both current together.

Where the mixing lives

The Streamer X does its live mixing in UNIFY: up to four microphones, six virtual audio devices, independent sub-mixes and multichannel recording, with the DSP running on the hardware rather than your CPU.
